The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened applications for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026 (SSC CHSL 2026) for recruitment to Group C posts in various Ministries, Departments and Organisations of the Government of India.
This recruitment is relevant to Deaf (D) and Hard of Hearing (HH) candidates because the CHSL disability-suitability framework includes hearing-disability categories for CHSL posts. Candidates must still check the post-wise suitability and reservation details in the official SSC notice before selecting post preferences.

Posts under SSC CHSL
SSC CHSL generally recruits for Group C posts such as:
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
- Data Entry Operator (DEO)
- Data Entry Operator Grade A, where applicable
Candidates should read the 2026 notification carefully because disability suitability can vary by post and department.
Deaf / Hard of Hearing eligibility
The SSC CHSL disability-suitability framework includes D = Deaf and HH = Hard of Hearing among the recognised disability categories for relevant CHSL posts.
Important: DeafJobsIndia is not publishing an exact 2026 HH vacancy count yet. SSC has not yet published a separate CHSL 2026 vacancy table showing the department-wise HH reservation total. We will update this article as soon as SSC releases the official 2026 vacancy statement.
Do not use the 43 HH vacancies from the CHSL 2025 final vacancy list as the CHSL 2026 figure. That number belongs to the previous examination cycle.
